Health wise, I regard myself as a mixed bag of tricks! I struggle to walk great distances and I use a stick or a wheelchair to get around. I have a diagnosis of ASD and also mental health issues. I suffer with migraines which can be quite debilitating. PURPOSE OF JOB To assist me around the home and help me focus on tasks that need completing. PLACE OF WORK Within my home mainly. Occasionally accompanying me on short outings. HOURS OF WORK 12 hours in total:- 2 hour shifts on Mondays and Saturdays. 4 hour shifts on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Job share will be considered for this post. Please state your availability on the application form. RATE OF PAY £9.50 per hour. Mileage will also be reimbursed for any journeys you make in your car with/for me. TASKS INVOLVED To help me with my food shopping. To assist with domestic duties around the home, including putting out the bins. Helping me to sort out my home – I get easily distracted so you will need to keep me focussed. Making phone calls on my behalf as and when necessary. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone who: is patient, understanding and approachable. is reliable, trustworthy with good time keeping has a good awareness of LGBT issues would help. has experience of working with or caring for someone with ASD is good with technology and can help with technical issues around the home would be an advantage! is able to work on their own initiative and is happy to suggest ideas ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Thank you.
