I have atrial fibrillation and have a pace-maker fitted. I am not disabled but I get around using a walking stick or a wheelchair when shopping. Having lost a considerable amount of weight the doctor has advised I need to boost my appetite with nutritious and healthy meals. Therefore, I require a suitable person to help prepare meals. PLACE OF WORK Your job will be within my home in Penarth. PURPOSE OF THE JOB You will support me with my daily with food preparation. HOURS OF WORK 16 hours per week to be used on a flexible basis agreed in advance Typically you will work late afternoon / evening RATE OF PAY £10.00 per hour TASKS INVOLVED Your main role is my daily meal preparation Freshly preparing meals Suggesting new and different ideas for meals Encouraging me to eat Cleaning up the kitchen after the task is complete Weekly shopping, which I will sometimes join in and packing items away in cupboard You will safely and confidently support me to manage walking up and down stairs to access outside my property TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED An enthusiastic and friendly person is important Good communication skills and attitude towards this type of work You must be able to freshly prepare a meal Someone with ideas for appetising meals An understanding of food safety and hygiene while working in the kitchen Very important that you are dependable and reliable Someone who I can confidently and easily build rapport with ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. I will be your legal employer. The wage will be paid 4-weekly by BACS from the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Thank you.
