VOG672 Personal Assistant JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a 28-year-old woman living in Barry. I am sometimes happy and sometimes not. I like a laugh and a joke but also like people to know when I need a bit of space. I like to learn and especially enjoy going to museums and learning about science. I love animals and enjoy going to aquariums or farms, in fact anywhere where there are animals. I like theme parks and like rides; the faster and the higher the better! I like beach walks and mountain walks and especially enjoy being outdoors. I like music, especially country and pop but don’t like anything with a strong bass. I like to go on trains and would like to get into doing sports. I have a learning disability and have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. PURPOSE OF THE JOB I am looking for a Personal Assistant who can help me to maintain and develop my independence and independent living skills. HOURS OF WORK 4 hours to be used on weekends. We can discuss this at interview. RATES OF PAY £10.90 per hour plus mileage. TASKS CAN INCLUDE Accompanying me to the gym/to play sport and showing me the ropes Keeping me company to go to theme parks/farms/museums/for walks Assisting me with budgeting/some independent living skills Ensuring my safety Accompanying me on train journeys Generally being a companion TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Reliable Flexible Car owner/driver Someone who shows initiative Someone who can gauge my mood Someone who is willing/able to accompany me to play sport/go to the gym/go for walks ABOUT THE JOB This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
