Apply now JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a 33-year-old male living in Flemingston (near St Athan). I have Cerebral Palsy and respiratory disease and am a wheelchair user. I can transfer from my wheel chair to a chair or bed so there is little manual handling required. I went to University in Swansea and can speak German, French and Spanish as well as Welsh. I enjoy using my Computer and phone to keep in touch with my friends. I enjoy going to the gym and going shopping, to the cinema and travelling. PURPOSE OF JOB I am looking to employ a Personal Assistant (PA) to assist me in the mornings to getup, shower, dress and make my breakfast as well helping me take my medicines (they come in pre-dispensed blister packs) , and do my washing as well as having a good chat! PLACE OF WORK I have my own adapted ground floor flat attached to my parents’ house. HOURS OF WORK There are 10 hours per week available. RATE OF PAY £10.00 per hour with time and half on Bank Holidays TASKS INVOLVED to assist me to getup, Help me shower Help me dress. make my breakfast. helping me take my medicines ( in pre-dispensed blister packs) Make my bed and change linen as required. do my washing. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Experience of care work would be desirable. Someone who will be reliable. Trustworthy Someone who will respect my home and belongings. Friendly and enthusiastic Driver required. Male or Female PA required ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Thank you.
