Apply now Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a man of 27 who lives in Penarth Marina with my parents and two cats. I like watching rugby, especially Cardiff Blues and I also play rugby for a local mixed ability team. I am a MASSIVE wrestling fan and used to train several times per week. I love watching the live wrestling shows; everything from the local shows in Cathays community centre - bigger events at The Tramshed & also arena shows. I enjoy travelling further afield for shows also. I’m a big fan of Marvel and DC films but also enjoy comedies, action films and the Star Wars franchise. I enjoy going to the theatre and cinema, playing pool in the pub and bowling. I also play cricket and basketball and attend Hi-Jinx which is an inclusive theatre company. I have an eclectic music taste and especially like pop music and RnB. I enjoy live music and I sing/perform with a band as well. I am very sociable and generally happy person. I can be quite anxious going into new situations and can initially be quiet until I suss things out. I have mild/moderate learning and speech difficulties. PURPOSE OF JOB I am looking for a Personal Assistant to support me to maintain independence and to be a bit of a ‘buddy’ to access activities away from home. HOURS OF WORK 10 hours per week to be used flexibly based on the activities we will be doing. RATES OF PAY £10.30 per hour. TASKS INVOLVED Helping me access community activities such as wrestling or going to the pub Attending concerts or going to shows with me Support when travelling by car, bus or train Assistance to buy tickets or goods Support with speech to help people understand me (if necessary) TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone with similar interests who would enjoy the activities described above would be beneficial Car driver with own car preferred. Mileage will be paid but business class insurance will be necessary Responsible and reliable Kind and patient Flexible ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
