 Part-time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a boy in my mid 20’s living in the Barry area. I have a diagnosis of Mosaic Downs Syndrome with associated learning disability, hypothyroidism, low muscle tone and a sinus condition. I am independent and like having a routine. I enjoy going to the cinema, bowling and cycling. I already attend an Allotment Gardening Project on a Wednesday & Thursday and I go to SEND Academy on a Friday. Therefore, I am looking for Personal Assistant to assist me to access the community on a Monday or a Tuesday.

PURPOSE OF JOB

I am looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support me to access the community with activities I enjoy.

HOURS OF WORK

6 hours per week, on either a Monday or Tuesday

RATES OF PAY

£12.40 per hour with mileage supplemented

TASKS INVOLVED

  • Accompanying me when out and about
  • Driving me to activities I like doing
  • Support me in the community
  • Ensuring my safety is priority at all times
  • Encouraging my interaction & independence
  • Exploring different things I may enjoy

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

  • Someone mature and outgoing
  • Someone who is flexible, reliable and trustworthy (this is an important aspect of the job)
  • Someone who has an understanding of my conditions
  • PA to be a sensible car driver, with own vehicle and business class insurance in place

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
