JOB DESCRIPTION

Part-time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

 

74-year-old lady with Cerebral Palsy living in the Heath area of Cardiff requires a personal assistant to support her with getting ready in the morning. 

 

She is a wheel chair user and is very sociable, great personality and good sense of humour.

HOURS OF WORK

Relief cover needed, as and when required. To cover permanent PA’s annual leave and sickness.

During the week days and weekend.

Monday- 4 hours

Tuesday- 4 hours

Wednesday - 4 hours

Thursday- 2 hours

Friday- 4 hours

Saturday- 9am to 11am

Sunday- 9am to 11am

 

RATES OF PAY

£12.65 per hour and £18.98 per hour on bank holidays.

 

TASKS INVOLVED

• Support with personal care- bathing, dressing
• Support with making breakfast
• Some support with housework- changing the bed

 

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

• Reliable, committed and punctual
• Understanding of confidentiality and privacy
• Trustworthy and efficient
• Friendly and sociable
• Car driver is required.

 

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
