Independent Advocate

Post between 22-25 hours p/w37 hours p/w;

Salary: £ 20,661 pro rata    (NJC scale Point 22-25)

 

We wish to recruit a dynamic and self motivated person to join our advocacy team working across the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) area of Gwent for adults with mental ill health.

 

As an Independent Advocate you will be working with individuals to ensure their voices are heard in decisions that affect them and ensuring their rights are upheld. This post involves working with adults with mental ill health across the five local authorities within the ABUHB area – Newport, Monmouthshire, Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent & Caerphilly.

 

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and fiercely committed to the rights of vulnerable and disabled people and to the value of advocacy. The posts will be based in our office located in Newport.

 

Dewis C.I.L is an independent voluntary organisation with an integrated management committee of disabled and non-disabled people. We particularly encourage disabled people and people with direct experience of disability to apply. These posts are subject to a satisfactory DBS check. Although a full time post, we will consider requests to work less than 37 hours.
