Here I have worked as a Team Leader for one year and as a Support Worker for two years. Through this I have gathered extensive experience of positive behavioural support, supportIng individuals with autism and learning difficulties access education as well as dealing with the challenging behaviour that can present. I have an A Level in Health and Social Care as well as a QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care. I also have a degree in Creative Performance which can add another dimension of care and support for individuals in my care.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? *: Being creative and explorative in the way that we tackle new tasks. Empowering the individual by using different clinical models and being innovative, making things fun and enjoyable.  

 

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? *: Having supported individuals with learning difficulties through education and in a residential setting as well as in the community, this has led me to wanting to pursue working with service users on an individual basis within their own homes and within the community. Being a Team Leader, I have had the opportunity to spend time with families of service users and understand the struggles that they go through, I believe that through PA work I can not only make a difference to the service users quality of life but the families too.  

 

What are your hobbies/interests?: Music - I sing and play guitar, writing my own music I cycle regularly and love walking I attend the gym almost every day I love to travel Watching live music I go to the cinema regularly
