I currently am a deputy leader working in a flying start setting which is a multicultural setting with many children having English as an additional language. Some children have speech and language defects / delays and I hold makaton levels 1-4 to help aid this. Some children also potentially have additional learning needs so I help to observe and document and fill out referral forms and work with staff and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each individual child

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): Patient, caring, nurturing, helpful, capable of using initiative, working alone or in a team, friendly, approachable, open minded, trustworthy

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I think I can help them have a good quality of life and respect them as an individual

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I fancy a change right now but something that would be a challenge as well as rewarding
