I dealt with many customers, many of which who had health issues and so as part of my role, I used to help assist them to certain areas of the shop. I have experience in regards to caring and supporting the elderly as my grandmother suffered from paralysis and so I helped with washing and cleaning up after her. What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I believe that being compassionate and patient are two main qualities that are very much needed when working in a role like this. How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I will make it clear that I am on hand at all times for support but also make clear that they still have their independence and not force my help upon them when I can see they are able to help themselves. What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): As part of my University degree (Psychology), I have always wanted to work in the health care field and having lived with my grandmother for almost 10 years, I enjoy making others feel happy and making them feel like I am their friend and not just a PA.
