Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. *: I was employed on behalf of the NHS as a first point of call for patients with coronavirus and those who had been in contact with someone with coronavirus. These were often difficult conversations with those who had been bereaved so I have demonstrated a lot of compassion and helped vulnerable people. I was trained very well for this role and have a lot of knowledge on safeguarding and procedures that include the safety of patients. I have a little brother who I am used to looking after and have done since he was a baby. I know how to connect with children of his age and feel in control of difficult situations that can arise.  

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? *: To be patient, kind, and calm. To be caring and compassionate, and have excellent communication skills. To be aware at all times, have the ability to think quickly and resolve any issues calmly. To be on the ball, punctual, and understanding, and giving my undivided attention whilst providing care. I am an enthusiastic, reliable and trustworthy person. I am very friendly and easy going. I have a very positive outlook on life and I like to feel as though I am making a positive impact on others.  

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? *: I think I can contribute by making a real difference to someone’s life, making the time I spend with them really enjoyable for them, whilst making sure all their needs are met. Ensuring the child is safe at all times is the most important factor. I will ensure that I provide the best support possible to the child I am taking care of, and that they are comfortable and happy at all times.  

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? *: Helping others, and improving people’s lives. I would love to give enjoyment to others lives and feel as though I am making an impact. I would love to make a difference and would find the position really rewarding. I am very flexible so I would fit the position really well.  

What are your hobbies/interests?: I have a little brother who I love spending time with, he’s just turned 8. I like to spend my time seeing friends and family and watching Netflix. I am very interested in beauty/fashion and I have an online business which keeps me busy. I love listening to music, playing guitar and singing, and drawing.
