Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): My experience of studying music and becoming a musician has broadened the skill set I have in many ways. Through music, I work with and play with people from all walks of life. Studying music at University requires me to be resilient as at times it is very challenging, it requires me to be very hardworking, and have a great sense of commitment and love for music. I am a very empathetic and understanding person, and I believe I am suitable for this role for those reasons. Previously, I have worked on music courses for young children, where I have been working with children who have differing abilities, and because of that I have to be flexible to differing needs, understanding of needs, and kind. I have also had many jobs in customer service within hospitality which has led me to develop strong communication, reliability, and problem solving skills. 

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): The qualities which I think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person are definitely empathy, kindness and being non judgemental. As a personal assistant I would be flexible to the needs of the disabled person, whilst understanding that the needs and activities they would like to do might change on different days. 

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I believe I can contribute towards the needs and independence of a disabled person most importantly by listening. I would listen to their needs, and understand what they would want to get out of the time that I am with them. I believe I can contribute towards the independence of a disabled person by providing a completely judgement free environment, and allowing to communicate with me freely, whether that be what they’d like to do on certain days or simply to tell me a story. 

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): PA work appeals to me for many reasons. Firstly, I love working with people and getting to know people. Through music I work and communicate with people from all sorts of backgrounds. PA work appeals to me as I would like to provide company and service to disabled people. I have many skills that I have already developed through music that are applicable to becoming a personal assistant. 

What are your hobbies/interests?: Music is my main interest, and I am currently in my fourth year of studying at a Conservatoire. Aside from music, I enjoy films, theatre, and swimming.
