Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I will be starting as a TA for a child with ASD in secondary school as of the 6yth September. Previously I have worked for Ludlow Street Healthcare as a Support Worker in the community, supporting individuals with mental health issues. This involved a wide range of things, from community based activities to house duties. I have also worked for the National Autistic Society in one of their day centres, supporting individuals in their learning and community based activities.


What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): Caring, compassionate and patient


How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): While working on The National Autistic Society, our aim goal was helping an individual develop their independence, at whatever level they could achieve. This would range from learning to independently to brush their teeth to being able to purchase food items at a super market. While working there, I learnt there is a fine line between supporting and doing everything for a person. I am a advocate for a disabled person living as independently within in their capacity.


What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I am looking for additional hours along side my TA job.


What are your hobbies/interests?: Art, photography, craft, tv & film, music, walking, swimming
