I love YouTube videos, motorbikes, war and other documentaries which intrigue me and teach me about the world and history. I love tattoos, and have an eclectic taste in music including reggae, rock et cetera. I have a particular interest in current affairs and the Palestine area along with the Yemen and Syria. I like to travel and wish I could travel more places, I like to learn about other cultures and particularly like geography and issues of the environment and climate change. I like to learn about others and am interested in their worlds and life stories. I enjoy having a laugh and I like to have a good chat especially over a cup of tea. I am a smoker and I have a cat so please be aware of this if you are going to apply. PURPOSE OF JOB To provide support to me both at home and in the community, when required. Travel away from normal place of work may be required on occasions. PLACE OF WORK I live in the Heath area of Cardiff with my partner. HOURS OF WORK 18 hours per month, with the possibility of an increase. 1 x weekday every other week - 3-4 hours. 1 x weekend a month - 6 hours per day split to 2 shifts per day - i.e. 11am-2pm & 17:00 -20:00 Hours are to be flexible and can be discussed and agreed with in advance to suit everyone. RATE OF PAY£9.50 an hour. TASKS INVOLVED Preparing lunch/dinner/snacks/drinks. Assisting with eating & drinking. Assisting with toileting (if required.) Assisting with smoking. Going for walks/outings. Assisting with standing. General cleanliness of the house i.e. hoovering/clearing up after self. Assisting with shopping. Assisting with any issues i.e. technical issues of certain equipment. Assisting with hygiene (where and when required) Assistance with medication when required. This list is not exhaustive. Caring and someone who can listen and be patient. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
