I have ME which limits my mobility and I experience muscle weakness. I enjoy watching films and listening to music. I have a friendly dog called Lola. I used to be a very independent individual but due to my condition I have had to start relying on other people around me. PURPOSE OF JOB To enable me to be as independent as possible in my home and to respect my needs. PLACE OF WORK In my home and occasionally accompanying me to hospital appointments. HOURS OF WORK 8 Hours per week – hours to be discussed. RATE OF PAY £9.30 per hour no enhancements on bank holidays. TASKS INVOLVED On occasions you may be required to attend medical appointments with me. You will be required to assist me with prepping meals and cooking. Meals can then be frozen for the week. Instructions with regards to cooking can be given. Light domestic tasks and laundry. Personal care tasks, I would like to shower and wash my hair but will require little assistance as I like to do what I can myself. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED I would like my PA to be a positive person as due to my condition my mood can become quite low. I am looking for someone who is calm natured and understanding of my condition. Someone who isnt too loud due to my sensitivity to light and sound. Someone with a good sense of humour and initiative. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
