JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

My mother is an elderly person, nearly 80 years old. She suffers from dementia and other health issues. She has advanced stage glaucoma which has left her partially blind. She lives in Cardiff alone and needs assistance in day to day tasks, i.e. showering, dressing, giving all three meals per day and prompting medication. Her mother tongue is Urdu but can speak and understand some English. Her dementia sometimes causes her confusion, due to memory loss she keeps repeating the same things. Sometimes it will take a lot of convincing to make her do things such as getting out of bed or encouraging to take a shower. She is capable of going to toilet herself but might need some help if she has a bowel accident. She hardly goes out but might need assistance to attend hospital appointments.
