Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

6 year old, happy, active and lovable little boy in Llandaff area of Cardiff.

He loves lots of activities including soft play, trampolining, the farm, park and swimming. He loves animals and dinosaurs. His speech is developing every day and he is able to verbally communicate his needs and things he wants to do. He is able to use the toilet with little support. He needs constant supervision to ensure he is safe, but will listen and hold your hand when out in the community. He needs support when interacting with other children.

 

PURPOSE OF JOB

To take him out in the community. He enjoys going to the park, bowling, cinema, beach, and visiting a farm. To build his confidence in social and community settings.

HOURS OF WORK

Average 10.5 hours per week

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday- 3pm - 6pm
Thursday and Friday- 9am to 4pm during the school holidays.

RATES OF PAY

£10.35 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED

  • To support out in the community to activities he enjoys.
  • Some support may be required for personal care
  • Supervision at all times required to ensure safety.
  • Support with interaction with children.

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

  • Caring, active, patient, enthusiastic 
  • Responsible, reliable, honest and trustworthy.  
  • Willingness to learn on the job and be part of a team is essential. 
  • Car driver with own car is preferable.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
