CDP237 Personal Assistant to Adult Quote ref: CDP237 on application form Apply now JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF 26-year-old male living in the Rhiwbina area of Cardiff is looking for a personal assistant to support him out to activities he enjoys. He has a learning disability but is abled and enjoys socialising. The aim of support is to take him out into the community. He would like to go to the pub and have a soft drink, is interested in visiting Pedal Power enjoys trips to the theatre and would like to go and watch live music. He is a keen musician and plays in a band. He also loves to sing karaoke. Personal care is not required. A car driver is essential. It is important that the individual has a good understanding of learning disability and he would like someone who is punctual and supportive of his needs. On occasions, he needs encouragement to go out but once he is out, he enjoys himself. He needs reassurance and friendship. HOURS OF WORK 10 hours per week Thursday between 10.30am to 3.30pm Remaining hours are to be used flexibly in the evenings. RATE OF PAY £9.85 an hour TASKS INVOLVED To support with accessing activities as required To provide opportunities for social interaction To be responsible for his health and safety at all times TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Reliable and trustworthy• Understanding of confidentiality• Must be able to use own initiative • Patient and friendly • Car driver with own car essential ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
