Part-time Personal Assistant

 

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

25-year-old male living in the Rhiwbina area of Cardiff is looking for a personal assistant to support him out to activities he enjoys.  He has a learning disability but is abled and enjoys socializing.

The aim of support is to take him out into the community. He would like to go to the pub and have a soft drink, is interested in visiting Pedal Power enjoys trips to the theatre and would like to go and watch live music. He is a keen musician and plays in a band at Cathays Community Centre. He also loves to sing karaoke. 

Personal care is not required. A car driver is essential. It is important that the individual has a good understanding of learning disability and he would like someone who is punctual and supportive of his needs.  On occasions, he needs encouragement to go out but once he is out, he enjoys himself.  He needs reassurance and friendship.

 

HOURS OF WORK

 

10 hours p/w

Flexible hours ideally during evenings and on a Saturday morning.

RATES OF PAY

£9.75 per hour

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
