Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I’m a female living in Canton, and I have Cerebral Palsy affecting my speech, dexterity and mobility. I usually work in town, love to go shopping and to the occasional gig, but am currently working from home and trying not to buy too much online :-) Major TV-watcher and tea-drinker. 

 

PURPOSE OF JOB

Assistance needed at home with daily personal tasks like some stages of dressing (tights, laces etc) and all cooking and household duties. I have one main PA at the moment, so am currently looking for another PA to share the shifts, and a relief PA too if possible. 

 

 

HOURS OF WORK

Up to 11hrs per week 

 

Monday- Friday 8.15 – 9.45 am & 6.00 – 7.30 pm

 

Saturday and Sunday 9.30 – 11.00 am & 6.00 – 7.30 pm

 

I could be flexible with times to an extent, e.g. if 8-9.30am’s better for you. 

 

Weekday assistance is most important at the moment.

RATE OF PAY

£9.70 per hour 

TASKS INVOLVED

Assistance mainly needed with the following: 

  • Personal care– shaving armpits, plucking eyebrows, hairstyling etc 
  • Dressing – stages like tights, buttons, laces etc 
  • Cooking & meal preparation
  • Food shopping 
  • Household duties

 

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

Friendly, sociable female who’s practical, organised and reliable. Willing to take direction when needed, but also pro-active and capable of using her own initiative. Caring but not overbearing.

 

 

ABOUT THE JOB

 

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A probation period will be necessary in the first instance.  Wages will be paid 4 weekly.  You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
