CDP1642 Relief Personal Assistant to Adult Quote ref: CDPA1642 on application form Apply now JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant GENERAL INFORMATION I am a gentleman living at home in Llanrumney who is 95 years old and have a fulltime, live-in caregiver who assists with my daily needs. I am considered to be a quiet individual who takes a little while to get used to people. I am currently able to get around the house, wash, shower and use the toilet without any support, but need some supervision because of reduced mobility. I have been diagnosed with mild dementia and as a result am very forgetful. While I am fairly mobile and reasonably independent at the moment, there may come a time when I will require additional assistance with my daily needs. I am looking for a personal assistant who will provide relief in my home to my full-time caregiver so that she can take time off for personal reasons. Please note this position would also be to cover the permanent PA's annual leave and sickness, flexibility would be required. HOURS OF WORK 2 days each week from 9am to 5pm to be coordinated with my caregiver. RATE OF PAY £10.00 per hour plus holiday pay. TASKS CAN INCLUDE Meal preparation Keep the kitchen tidy Prompting of medication Providing companionship General supervision Light housekeeping duties Other tasks and assistance, as my needs evolve TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED A calm individual who is patient and has experience in working with people with mild dementia. The person will be respectful of my privacy. Non-smoker. Sometimes I want time to myself and, as long as my welfare is assured, it will allow the personal assistant to take time to read, study, listen to music etc. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
