Female Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a lady living in the Pontypridd area of Rhondda Cynon Taff. I have Multiple Sclerosis which limits my mobility.

I am happy and outgoing and I enjoy getting out and about socially. I enjoy crochet which is a new hobby of mine I have started during lockdown via zoom and also a seated yoga class which I participate via zoom.

I enjoy eating out, going to the cinema, visiting museums and I also enjoy the great outdoors.  As things are quite limited with the current restrictions in place I am looking for someone proactive to help me find new hobbies and someone who can think outside the box to support me.

PURPOSE OF JOB

I am looking for a permanent PA who will be committed for long term employment. The purpose of the job is to support me with my social activities and personal care. There will also be times when I am unable to go out and then light domestic tasks and meal preparation support will be required.

PLACE OF WORK

At my home and in and around the RCT area

HOURS OF WORK

7.5 hours per week

Saturday and Sunday ideally

RATE OF PAY

£9.00 per hour plus mileage where applicable

TASKS INVOLVED

  • To accompany me on hospital, doctors and dentist visits.
  • To provide suitable transport for social outings. (e.g. own car)
  • To enable and accompany me out on social outings to include going shopping, concerts, cinema and special events etc.(this maybe limited due to COVID-19 restrictions)
  • Going to the gym with me
  • Preparing drinks, meals and snacks when required.

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

  • Someone to help me be more assertive to enable me to make decisions on where to go and what to do and proactively
  • Someone with a good sense of humour and able to have a laugh with trivial things
  • Considerate and kind
  • Someone who is outgoing
  • Someone who has experience with Multiple Sclerosis
  • Someone who is willing to go away for the weekend with me overnight

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living.  You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
