I am very pleasant and you will work in mostly happy and inviting work environment. I am always willing to work with you and I can be flexible. However, my needs must be met. My needs include personal care, attending appointments, meal preparation, accessing the community, cleaning and domestic tasks. PURPOSE OF THE JOB To support me at home with daily tasks, some personal tasks and taking me to hospital and doctors’ appointments. HOURS OF WORK 19 hours per week or 9.5 hours split between two PA’s. 19 hours worked over 6 days: 4 days of 4 hour shifts or two 2 hour shifts, plus 2 days of 90 minute shifts. Some flexibility in exact hours of shifts to be discussed at interview. RATES OF PAY £10.40 per hour. £0.45 per mile. Double time on bank holidays TASKS CAN INCLUDE Some personal care – can include encouraging me to shower and get dressed. Daily AND spring-cleaning of housework. Some cooking, maybe twice or more per week (I may help on times.) Ordering and possibly collecting my monthly prescriptions. Helping me by encouraging me to read the mail daily whilst you are with me, or as often as is necessary to go through the mail and sort it out. Making a list as you go along of any phone calls that need to take place due to what is in that mail. Taking me to hospital/doctors’ appointments and staying with me whilst I’m there. Shopping for me locally approximately twice a week, also sit with me and help to place a weekly order from Asda. Outdoor activities with me e.g. taking me clothes shopping, Christmas shopping etc. Taking me to visit friends or out for a nice drive or meal. Put ready my medication into 7-day pill medication organisers, ready for the week/month ahead! Cutting my toenails and putting cream on dry skin on feet. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Car owner with business class insurance is essential. Flexible, reliable and punctual. Good communication with client necessary. Essential that you maintain confidentiality in all aspects of working in clients home. ABOUT THE JOB This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
