I have had a diagnosis of Congenital Aniridia a genetic condition, which means I have no Iris and I am registered severely sight impaired. I am sensitive to sunlight and I wear glasses or sunglasses when I am outside. We are an active family and I love playing outside and getting stuck in with outdoor games and activities. As a family we have a positive attitude to what I can achieve, and we feel it’s important for me to be as independent as possible. My parents describe me as a chatty, sociable and loving boy and I am also very inquisitive and I enjoy play centres and creative play. I currently do not use visual aids so I require verbal prompting and describing of my surroundings when I am in the community and unfamiliar areas. PLACE OF WORK Local to the area of Taffs Well PURPOSE OF THE JOB My parents are looking to employ a PA to help promote my independence and to develop my social skills HOURS OF WORK 2 hrs after school on a Monday (4-6) 4 hours every other Sat (9.30- 1.30) RATE OF PAY £11.00 per hour plus mileage where applicable TASKS CAN INCLUDE Taking me swimming Going for a bike ride Taking me to Cubs Taking me to places I enjoy Being responsible for my safety while out and about TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone who will encourage me Someone who can drive and has their own vehicle An active person who doesn’t mind participating Someone who is patient and understanding Someone trustworthy, punctual and reliable Someone who can have fun Someone who has a positive view on what I can achieve ABOUT THE JOB I will be your legal employer so you will need a National Insurance number.
