Part-time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I’m a young man living in the Rhydyfelin area with my parents.

My conditions are global delay and epilepsy. I am very sociable and chatty but can occasionally have an outburst if my routine is disrupted or something comes up unexpected. I Like to travel in the car or by train to SEND ACADEMY in Barry. I’m looking for a personal assistant to take me be back and forth to Send Academy and to support me whilst I am there.

PURPOSE OF JOB

The Main Purpose of the job is to take me back forth to SEND ACADEMY in Barry and to support me whilst I’m there. Afterwards then maybe, go shopping or go for food.

HOURS OF WORK

8 hours a week on a Friday to attend SEND academy start at 10am and finish at 3 via train or car

RATES OF PAY

£11.00 per hour, mileage supplement by the employer if own car used to take me back and forth to SEND.

TASKS INVOLVED

Taking me back and forth SEND ACADEMY, and Support me whilst I’m there

Taking me on public transport

Support me with money when going into a shop

Going for Food

Any other reasonable task

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

  • Experience of working with young adults with additional needs
  • Awareness of epilepsy
  • Car driver with on vehicle with business class insurance
  • Chatty and outgoing

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four Monthly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
