Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I’m a 55 year old, young at heart women living in Tonyrefail with my husband and cats. I have a major heart condition, pulmonary hypertension and a hole in my heart. I have self-published a book on Amazon about my experience with this. It is called ‘It’s my life and I’ve lived it.’

My disability affects me differently each day; some days I’m tired, others I feel active and able to do most things.

My interests include TV, books and an interest in cars which I got from watching my dad work as a mechanic when I was growing up.

In the local community.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To support me to access the local community.

HOURS OF WORK

5 hours per week, days and times will be flexible

RATE OF PAY

£10.00 per hour

40p mileage

TASKS INVOLVED

• Day to day outings like shopping or going for coffee
• Going to the cinema
• Taking me to doctors and hospital appointments

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

• You must be flexible and able to work different days/times as required
• An empathetic and compassionate person who is easy to talk to
• Someone who is understanding
• An enthusiastic and friendly person is important
• Car driver is essential and you will use your car for work

 

ABOUT THE JOB

 

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. I will be your legal employer. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living.  You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Business class insurance on your car and Manual Handling Training is essential.
