DP727 Personal Assistant Quote ref DP727 on application form Apply Now JOB DESCRIPTION Part-Time Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a young man in my 20’s living at home with my family in the Mountain Ash area. I am severely Autistic and have a learning difficulty and on occasions can display some challenging behaviours. I attend a specialised day provision throughout the week, when I am home I generally spend my time in my sensory room listening to music or watching TV. I am content in my home environment and require support to ensure my safety when my parents are out also to support me in the community to ensure I am safe. PURPOSE OF THE JOB My parents are looking to employ 2 personal assistants’ to work together (double handling) to help and support me at home and in the community to provide them with some respite. RATE OF PAY £9.00 per hour Plus Mileage Allowance (when applicable) HOURS OF WORK Split between 2 PA’s working same shift into 2 shifts of 4 hours Total of 8 hours per week per PA You will work one shift, possibly on a Saturday or Sunday evening although we are flexible with times of work. TASKS CAN INCLUDE Providing me with companionship Making sure I am safe Helping me to get a snack or drink if needed TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Preferably experience of autism and/or challenging behaviour Flexible with hours of work Positive approach to the job Confident and able to work on your own initiative Respectful of other people’s homes and property Reliable and friendly ABOUT THE JOB Although this is a part-time job, it will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The salary will be paid on a four weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to a satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer.
