DPC1154 Personal care assistant Quote ref DPC1154 on application form Apply Now JOB DESCRIPTION Part-Time Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a 8 year old boy living in Brynna with my mum and big brother. I have Cerebral Palsy and Absence Epilepsy, which limits my mobility. When In and around the house I wear splints and can walk around, but I use a wheelchair or walking frame when I am out. I am really outgoing and enjoy having loads of fun. I love being outdoors and as a family we have a really active social life. My dietary requirements are met with a pump feeding tube. This is used at regular intervals during the day to meet my nutritional needs. I eat pureed foods too and thickened drinks. One of my favourite things is toy vacuum cleaners. I have a few different brands and love to help out with cleaning around the house. I am active and busy and constantly on the go. I like watching cartoons on my IPad. I love playing games on there too. PURPOSE OF THE JOB The purpose of the job is to enable me to join in with community activities, enable me to enjoy time out of the house and to enable my mum to spend time with my big brother. You will sometimes accompany us on family trips to free up my mum and brother. TASKS WILL INCLUDE Assisting with my personal care needs Taking me out locally in my wheelchair Spending time in my home to enable my mum to go out Playing games with me in my house Taking me out and about with my mum Feeding me if required HOURS OF WORK I have 4 hours per week to use. Usually one evening after school from 3:45pm and the odd weekend session. Occasionally in school holidays, the hours may increase to cover a longer day out. You will be given 1-month notice for any hours to be worked. A Trial period will be necessary in the first instance of 6 months. The wage will be paid four weekly on return of a payslip provided by Dewis Centre for Independent Living. You will be paid by bank transfer by the employer. You will receive appropriate annual leave.
