Apply Now JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a 13-year-old boy living in the Llantrisant area with my parents. I have ADHD and traits of ASD but have good communication skills. I am funny and have a good sense of humour. I enjoy swimming, the cinema, bowling, watching racing cars and I like being outdoors walking, on my scooter, on bike rides etc. and I enjoy travelling on the bus. I am looking for a Personal Assistant to support me with my independence and to keep me safe in the community. PLACE OF WORK The main purpose of the job is to accompany me to places I enjoy, whilst ensuring my safety at all times. HOURS OF WORK 3 Hours per week – hours/days are flexible and can be discussed further at interview, but will predominantly be after school or on the weekend. Additional opportunities will arise during school holidays. RATE OF PAY £9.50 per hour plus 40p per mile for some of the journeys we make together in your car. TASKS INVOLVED Talking to me and building up a good trusting relationship; Supporting me to go out and do things socially; Accompanying me out for walks / exercise; Trips to the cinema, bowling etc.; Support me with handling money; Ensuring my safety is priority at all times. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED A good sense of humour is important, reliable, trustworthy, flexible and have patience Mature attitude, calm and energetic Non-smoker A driver with own car and business class insurance Experience of working with children with ADHD/Autism is preferred ABOUT THE JOB This post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check. Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on receipt of a payslip from Dewis Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata).
