Apply Now JOB DESCRIPTION Male Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a 10 year old boy with autism, living with my family in Rhigos. I am verbal and able to communicate fully. I have trouble regulating my behaviour and have rather acute sensory issues. I also have some mobility issues and can get tired easily. I love PJ Masks, dressing up, playing with my brother, watching TV and spending time on my iPad, but I don’t like soft play centres as I can’t use them fully due to mobility issues. PURPOSE OF THE JOB My parents are looking to employ a personal assistant to take me out in the community to develop my social skills as well as giving them some respite. HOURS OF WORK There are 3 hours per fortnight available, but possible increase in hours in the future. These hours will generally be worked every other Sunday. RATES OF PAY £9.75 per hour. TASKS CAN INCLUDE Taking me to the cinema Taking me swimming and support with dressing Taking me to the park Taking me to the supermarket to help develop my social skills and tolerance Ensuring I am always safe Playing with me and keeping me entertained Encouraging with my self-help skills Some personal care also required TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Experience of working with autistic children would be an advantage especially if you have experience with DIR therapy Someone who will is active and able to keep up with me Someone who will be sensitive to my needs Someone who will be reliable as I like routine A driver with access to own vehicle is essential Someone who will engage and play with me ABOUT THE JOB Although this is a part-time job, it will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The salary will be paid on a calendar monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to a probationary period and a DBS (Police) Check.
