I have some learning difficulties which means I sometimes have behavioural issues and can be a bit overpowering. I enjoy the cinema, walking, playing the park and play centres Young Boy I am a young boy living with my mum and sister in Maerdy I have high functioning Autism. I don’t like raised voices and too many people, everything goes in my mouth, I have some communication problems but I am starting to learn to put sentences together. I can have tantrums and can bite, scram and scream; when I am like this a PA needs to remain calm and patient with me. I don’t have any sense of danger and can run off. I am not toilet trained as of yet. I am a happy and affectionate young boy who sometimes enjoys hugs, I enjoy my ipad, travelling on buses, walking, the park and bouncy castles and trampolines. PLACE OF WORK At home and out in the community – we are looking for 2 PA’s to take us out together PURPOSE OF THE JOB To keep me safe at all times Take me out and to do things I enjoy HOURS OF WORK 3 hours a week which are flexible to be discussed at interview RATE OF PAY £9.30 per hour TASKS CAN INCLUDE To support me to the cinema, swimming, the local park, play centres and maybe the beach TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone who is energetic and understanding of our needs Someone who is chatty and patient Someone who is calm but knows intervention strategies Someone with a drivers licence, their own vehicle and have with business class insurance Experience of autism and challenging behaviour personal or professional ABOUT THE JOB I will be your legal employer so you will need a National Insurance number. Pay will be monthly and appropriate paid annual leave is given. There will be trial period involved and a police check will be necessary (which I will arrange).
