I have a learning disability which means I need support with some day to day activities. I enjoy activities such as Swimming, bowling and going to parks. I am quite an easy going person but need guidance when it comes to road/personal safety and handling money.. PURPOSE OF JOB To support me to access activities in the community in order to build and maintain independence and social skills. PLACE OF WORK Mainly out and about in the community. HOURS OF WORK 3 hours per fortnight Mainly to be worked in the evenings or on weekends. RATE OF PAY £9.00 per hour TASKS INVOLVED Picking me up from my home and taking out to activities of my choice. Supporting to me to pay for and order things. Ensuring my personal safety at all times Suggesting new things for us to try. Encouraging me to be independent TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone with a full clean driving licence, with business class insurance. Someone who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home. Someone with a positive outlook and happy disposition. Someone reliable and with good time keeping. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Thank you.
