Apply now JOB DESCRIPTION Part-time Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a 13-year-old boy living with my Mum and sister in Pantygraigwen. I go to Hawthorn Comprehensive School and have mild Cerebral Palsy. I mobilise pretty well, but have some difficulties at times. I am calm and relaxed, pleasant and easy to get along with. Mum says I am polite and nice to be around. I enjoy playing on the PlayStation, going to the park, McDonalds and the arcade. When I go out and about, I am quite happy in most environments, and when I go in the car I like to look around and see what’s going on. PURPOSE OF JOB The main purpose of the job is to take me places I enjoy, whilst ensuring my safety at all times. Also, the time we spend together will provide my mum and sister some quality time together and provide me with some independence. HOURS OF WORK 6 hours per week, to be used flexibly per week. Usually after school (late afternoon) and weekends, although during the school holidays there may be some daytime hours too. RATES OF PAY £9.50 per hour plus 40p per mile for journeys we make together in your car. TASKS INVOLVED Accompanying me when out and about Driving me to activities I like doing Ensuring my safety is priority at all times Encouraging my interaction & independence Helping me to communicate effectively Promoting life skills Exploring different things that I may enjoy TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone outgoing and confident Someone who is flexible and reliable Someone who can suggest new things for me to get involved in Someone that is happy to take me for a walk to the park to help me get some exercise PA to be a sensible car driver, with own vehicle and business class insurance in place ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
