Personal Assistant

I am a 6 year old boy living in Merthyr with my family. I have ASD and use BSL and PECS as I use very few words to communicate. Despite not having much verbal communication I’m very able to get my point across and I can let people know what I want or need. I’m very independent and busy. My mum says I am quite the escape artist and I’m always on the go, I’m a fast runner and regularly make a dash for hidden exits or out of gates that are out of view. One of my favourite places to go is the swimming pool I love being in the water but tend to hold onto the side or the ladder. I really like soft play centres too. When places are too busy I can be quite fidgety and a little anxious. New places also make me anxious. I like watching YouTube on my tablet. I like simple songs and nursery rhymes and enjoy singing along. I’m very active and enjoy things like rock climbing. My mum likes to risk assess places before I go to make sure they’re safe for me. I have no awareness of danger and exhibit some anxiety led behaviours. I am very loving and bond well with my carers.

My mum is looking to employ a Personal Assistant to give me opportunities to extend my social circles and enjoy leisure activities and enable her to continue working.
