Casual Personal Assistant




I am a lady in my fifties living with my husband in the Merthyr area.

I have Multiple Sclerosis which affects my physical and cognitive abilities which means I need support with all aspects of daily living including domestic tasks. I am also looking to employ a personal assistant who is patient and understanding of my needs and is able to lift my spirits when I am feeling a little bit down.



The main purpose of the job is to support me in my own home to live independently. Supporting me by providing me with assistance with all personal care and tasks within the home. To also support me out in the community when required; this will enable my husband who is my main carer to have some respite.  



 £10.00 per hour


This is a casual position to cover my main personal assistant for any absences e.g.  annual/sick leave.

 Monday – Friday 9am - 2pm

 Looking to employ one or two personal assistants to cover the position.



  • Helping me to with my morning routine, personal hygiene, showering, getting dressed, doing my hair etc.
  • Ensuring catheter bags are changes and emptied throughout the day.
  • To assist me when I am walking around the house, to the bathroom and to the car when required.
  • Completing domestic tasks such as making or changing my bed, hoovering and dusting.
  • Assisting with meal preparation.
  • Completing laundry tasks, washing and ironing.
  • Driving me to places I want to go such as the doctors or hospital appointments.
  • Ordering and collecting my medication and catheter supplies.
  • Supporting and prompting me to take my medication in the morning and at lunchtimes.
  • Ensuring I am safe at all times
  • Helping with the weekly shopping or sitting with me when my husband is out shopping.

  • Someone who has a sense of humour.
  • A person who respects and understands confidentiality when working in someone’s home.
  • Applicant must hold a clean driving licence.




Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. The Right to Work in the UK checks will be completed and a trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly and directly into your bank account.


You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay.


The post is subject to a satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer. The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
