I have ASD that affects my social interaction, communication, interests and behaviour. I am very sensitive to sound and light and I do not cope well with confined spaces. I also can be very anxious when in social situations and can often need to leave if I ask to. Otherwise, I am a very chatty and well mannered. I am very creative I really enjoy drawing and painting and I am also very interested in stop motion which is an animated filmmaking technique. I also like playing on my X Box playing Minecraft. I love anything to do with ships and trains and a frequent listener to Queen and the Beatles. PURPOSE OF JOB My parents are looking to employ a Personal Assistant to help me develop my social interaction of people of a similar age, promote my independence, help me with my travel training and helping me being more confident with stranger danger. PLACE OF WORK In and around the local area of Treharris. HOURS OF WORK 3 hours per week during term time and increase to 6 hours per week non term time. RATE OF PAY £10.50 per hour including mileage TASKS MAY INVOLVE Taking me swimming Walking the dog with me Finding local groups or activities I may enjoy Drawing with me Going to the cinema Making sure I am safe at all times Playing on the Xbox TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone who has similar interests Preferably a male Someone who is funny Someone who has patience and good timekeeping Someone who can drive and has their own car ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Thank you.
