FEMALE Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a friendly lady living in the area of Dyffryn.  I have M.E and so am therefore looking to employ a Personal Assistant to assist me at home with day to day tasks enabling me to remain independence. My condition fluctuates a lot – sometimes I am bedridden, at other times 

I can move around slowly but spend a lot of time resting. I am housebound the majority of the time.  Sometimes I barely have the energy to talk or it is painful to speak due to severe sore throats, and I also suffer from hemiplegic migraines.

I am looking for someone who understands and appreciates this and can be patient with my fluctuating needs.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

I am looking for a permanent PA to join my existing team. Assisting me with household chores, cleaning and to keep my household running smoothly to help me maintain my independence. There is also a small amount of personal care, which is required. On occasion to help and prepare healthy meals and organise meal plans with me.

HOURS OF WORK

10 hours per week

11:00- 13:00 5 days per weekday

 

RATES OF PAY

£12.00 per hour weekday

£13.70 per hour weekend

 

 

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

            Assisting me to prepare and cook fresh meals

            General cleaning after use of kitchen

            Domestic tasks as required – ironing, laundry, cleaning, cooking

            Shopping with or without me if necessary based on my meal planning for that week

            Accompanying me out socially when required

            Taking me to appointments

            Personal care

 

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

      A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone-else’s home

      Someone who enjoy supporting me with cooking

      Someone who has good understanding of food hygiene

      Someone who is able to help me prepare a nutritious meal with fresh ingredients, this could include chopping ingredients, washing surfaces, washing dishes.

      Someone who can empathise and understands my condition

      Someone who is patient and quietly spoken

      Someone who doesn’t mind not wearing perfume as I am chemically sensitive and this can trigger migraines

      A car owner / driver that would be confident driving my car

      Someone flexible

      Someone non-judgmental

      Someone who is punctual

 

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid on a 4 weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
