Part-time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a young lady in my mid-thirties living in the Boverton area. I have good family support. I have mild learning difficulties. I experience a non-epileptic attack (NEAD) seizures, more so with heat or stress and I require someone to help me to remain calm and safe. I am very outgoing person that likes doing various new things. I enjoy Arts & Crafts, going to bingo, I also enjoy clothes shopping.

PURPOSE OF JOB

I am looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support me in the home and with accessing the local community. PA to support with helping me maintain my independence and engage in activities.

HOURS OF WORK

10 hours per week

4 days per week

RATES OF PAY

£12.00 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED

·        Support with light domestic duties around the home

·        Take me shopping

·        Accompanying me when out and about

·        Support me in the community

·        Keeping me safe which might include reassuring me and helping me be safe whilst or if I am having a seizure

·        Undertake activities I like doing such as painting, cooking, bingo,

·        Ensuring my safety is priority at all times

·        Encourage my motivation, interaction & independence

·        Prompt with medication 

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

·        Someone outgoing, confident and bubbly

·        Someone who is flexible, reliable and trustworthy (this is an important aspect of the job)

·        Someone who has an understanding of my conditions

·        PA to be a sensible car driver, with own vehicle and business class insurance in place

·        Someone who is confident to deal with my seizures 

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
