JOB DESCRIPTION

Part-time Personal Assistant

 

 

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am an 8 year old boy living in the Barry area. I am generally a happy active little boy. I am always smiling and laughing. I have Autism and I am non-verbal, but I will grab your hand to show you what I want. I require full adult supervision to ensure my safety. I enjoy swimming, sensory lights and soft play. I am at my happiest when out in the fresh air. I enjoy going to the park and going on the swings.

PURPOSE OF JOB

I am looking to employ a Personal Assistant to help me access the community to activities I enjoy.

HOURS OF WORK

3 hours per week, on weekend or on an evening after school

Flexible, but possible times:-

Sunday 10:30am to 1:30pm

Saturday 3pm to 6pm

Weekday – 5:30pm to 8:30pm

RATES OF PAY 

£14.60 per hour plus mileage included

TASKS INVOLVED

·        Ensure I am safe at all times

·        Take me to activities I enjoy

·        Ensure all my needs are met

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

·        Reliable and punctual

·        Patient, calm and understanding

·        Someone with average strength

·        Car driver/owner with business class insurance

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
