Female Personal Care Assistants x2

  • We are looking for up to two carers (1 full and 1 casual/part time) to join a well-established care team for a woman with profound and multiple learning disability in her own home in Caerphilly town.

About the client:

  • She is 50 Years Old
  • She is in a wheelchair.
  • She needs to be washed, dressed, fed.
  • She cannot ask for what she needs so you must be able to use your initiative and ensure that she is given everything that she needs.

What we are looking for:

  • Two female PAs to join an established team, with assigned hours, but also able to offer cover for holidays and sickness as required, and to carry out the following duties.
  • Shifts cover all of the 24-hour period.

Duties to include:

  • General Personal Care
  • Hoisting
  • Handling an electric wheelchair
  • Pressure area care
  • Moving and handling
  • Meal preparation & Feeding
  • Ensuring sufficient fluid intake
  • Administering of medication
  • Putting her to bed
  • Keeping her company, talking to her, socialising with her
  • Taking her out on day trips with other carers
  • Supporting her in the community

Hours Required:

  • 6-week rota operates. 20 hours per week available
  • Monday 8am – 12pm
  • Tuesday 6pm – 10pm
  • Wednesday 9am – 9pm
  • Thursday 8.00 am- 3.00 pm Week 1, Week 3, Week 4 and Week 5
  • Thursday 8.00am - 7pm Week 2 and Week 6
  • Friday 10am – 3pm
  • Saturday 4pm to 9pm every other week
  • Sunday 4pm to 9pm alternative weeks
  • Additional Sunday mornings to be agreed as required.
  • May be requested to do relief waking night shifts on occasions of staff leave or sickness

  • Full clean Driving Licence and willing to drive an adapted vehicle.
  • Diploma in Care
  • Current DBS check

Rates of Pay:

  • Hourly rate of Pay £10.40 per hour.
  • Weekend rate of pay is £15.60 per hour

About the Job:

  • This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.
  • Appropriate holiday pay given, 20 days plus 8 statuary
  • The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check
  • The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
