Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

 A personal assistant is required for a female in my 50’s diagnosed with a muscle wasting condition and a full time wheelchair user. I love to go out and about socially and enjoy, cinema, theatre and music. I am a big fan of soaps and t.v. drama and enjoy having a gossip at the latest goings on. I am friendly and easy going and have a good relationship with my care team.  

  

PURPOSE OF JOB

To undertake all aspects of personal care, washing, dressing etc, and also using a ceiling hoist. Experience would be ideal but training will be given. You will need to be friendly, punctual and reliable and have the ability to learn routines quickly and need minimum direction. You will need to be a confident driver as a main part of the job will require you to drive my adapted vehicle on social outings. You will need to be able to cook and have a high standard of cleanliness to ensure my home is kept clean and tidy at all times. I usually have plenty of opportunities for extra shifts covering holidays etc. This includes overnight shifts.                   

  

PLACE OF WORK

Lisvane, Cardiff

 

HOURS OF WORK

15 hours per week. 

WEDNESDAYS 3PM-10PM 

ALTERNATE SATURDAY 12NOON-11PM 

ALTERNATE FRIDAY 5PM-11PM

RATE OF PAY

£10.40 per hour

£90 per night

TASKS INVOLVED

Personal care, light household duties, cooking, Admin assistance

Accompanying on social activities Various other tasks when required

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

Must have access to a vehicle and hold a full driving license and be over 25 years of age for insurance purposes.

Must be reliable and punctual.

Must be flexible

Must be patient

Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential. Must wear PPE Masks

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living.  You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
