PERSONAL ASSISTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION

SOMETHING ABOUT ME

I am an elderly lady, a Lancashire Lass, who is living in Penarth with my daughter and son-in-law. I need help during the day as I have Alzheimer’s. Whilst I’m very sociable and enjoy talking to people, I need help to keep occupied, as i find not knowing things can be quite frustrating at times. I’m enjoying being back out in my local community, however i need an arm to help me feel safe when walking. I have arthritis which makes me slow and unsteady at times. I love music and sing with the Forget-Me-Not choir. I have piano lessons on a Saturday and would be interested in being involved with activities that include music including watching musicals. I previously made all my clothes, knitting and sewing. I like to colour and do jigsaw puzzles. I like having a cuppa tea and cakes at the local café. I was a regular church go-er before COVID and would love to start attending again. My aim each day is to have fun and laugh and live the best life I can.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

You will be joining my team of three PAs, who along with my daughter and son-in-law, provide my care 24/7 and help me stay as active and independent as possible. You will help me with personal care and plan activities for me in the day. My aim is to stay at home and you play a vital role in helping this happen.

HOURS OF WORK

You would join us on a permanent, but flexible basis, initially covering sickness. Days worked will be Monday to Friday and you will start on one or two days a week, working between 8.00 am and 5.45pm.
