Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a happy 13 year old young man living with my family in Barry area, I have a diagnosis of Kabuki syndrome and global developmental delay, which means I am non-verbal and communicate using Makaton. I can now communicate via a talking computer. I attend Ysgol y Deri. I am a socialable young man who enjoys spending time with other children and mixes well with my peers and takes part in a varied amount of activities outside of the home.

HOURS OF WORK

3 hours per week

Flexible, to be negotiated with the family

RATE OF PAY

£10.80 per Hour

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

• To take me to the local park, soft play, shopping
• Encouraging me to learn new social skills.
• Ensuring I am safe at all times

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

• Reliable, trustworthy and patient
• Caring, friendly and fun to be with
• Ability to use own initiative and think of activities for us to do
• Driver with access to their own vehicle and have business insurance
• Makaton required

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probationary period of 6 months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid 4-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay.
