Apply now JOB DESCRIPTION Part-Time Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I’m a lady in my forties living at home with my family in Penarth. I have Bipolar Disorder and Schizoaffective Disorder which affects my mental health and my ability to carry out day-to-day tasks. I am currently struggling to follow my routine so I am looking to employ someone to support and provide guidance for my daily routine. I am looking to exercise more so swimming and walking are two activities I would like to start up again. I enjoy wild life so while attending walks this gives me a lot of happy and positive feeling. Please be mindful this all depends on my mood, so i need someone who will encourage me as much as possible. PURPOSE OF THE JOB I am looking to employ a personal assistant to help and support me in order to live more independently from my parents. This will involve attending my home and providing assistance to support a balanced daily routine to manage activities of daily living including laundry tasks, shopping tasks, personal hygiene, financial aspects (paying bills) and weekly shop for groceries. I’d also like support and encouragement to promote participation with my preferred activities like walking, photography, baking and swimming. RATE OF PAY £10.00 per hour HOURS OF WORK There are 8 hours per week available. These hours can be mutually arranged. TASKS CAN INCLUDE Supporting and encouraging me with my daily routine Supporting me to go out into the community for a walk or to appointments Helping me with daily living tasks like laundry, shopping and hygiene. Supporting me to prepare a meal or snack Making sure I am safe at all times around the house Providing me with companionship TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Driver with access to own vehicle Someone with a good knowledge of the local area Someone with a good sense of humour Someone punctual and reliable Someone who likes to chat and share news Someone who shares my interests Someone who likes cats. ABOUT THE JOB The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check) which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK before you start work. Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid on a four weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay given.
