Apply now JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME My name is Matthew, I’m nonverbal autistic, and ten years old. I’m a Very happy, energetic boy who loves to run and use up all my energy. I have no sense of danger and I’m a flight risk, so I need to be constantly watched and held via hand holding or my backpack reins. I enjoy going to parks, arcades and anywhere with trees and flowers! I enjoy trampolines and soft play. I like going to techniquest and swimming, although I can’t swim, so need to be held. I love peppa pig, pylons, nature and animals. I am also in nappies so may need changing at one point during our outing, but everything will be provided for this. I am nonverbal but can communicate with hand tapping, pointing and writing on a phone. I can make yes and no sounds and understand your questions. PLACE OF WORK To help me have fun and keep me safe within the local community. HOURS OF WORK 3 hours every weekend, days and times can be discussed and are flexible every week. RATE OF PAY £11.00 per hour and 40p per mile TASKS CAN INCLUDE Driving Personal care Play Help my understanding of safety Promote independence Encourage me to eat and drink PURPOSE OF THE JOB I am looking to employ a personal assistant to help and support me to do everyday tasks whilst still allowing me to have independence. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Physically fit, good Endurance Patient, Kind, friendly Understanding Fun, energetic Able to drive with own car and full uk driving licence An understanding of autism ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probationary period of 6 months will be necessary in the first instance. I will be your employer. The wage will be paid 4 weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This job is subject to a DBS check.
