Apply now JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a 52 year old woman living in the Barry area. I have had brain damage since birth which paralysed the right side of my body. I’ve worked as a helper in a care home but don’t do that anymore. I stay home now and enjoy watching telly. PLACE OF WORK Your job will be within my home in Barry as well as the local community. HOURS OF WORK 7 hours per week, to be used flexibly, no weekend work RATE OF PAY £10.30 per hour TASKS INVOLVED General help around the home, cleaning, tidying, changing bedding Assistance with meals Providing basic emotional and well-being support Doing my weekly shopping for me and packing it away TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED An enthusiastic and friendly person is important Good communication skills and attitude towards this type of work A good listener who is sensible, mature and non-judgemental Very important that you are dependable and reliable Someone who I can confidently and easily build rapport with ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. I will be your legal employer. The wage will be paid 4-weekly by BACS from the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Thank you.
