Mum says I am easy to please and very friendly. I like being out and about and especially enjoy going to the beach, swimming and going out for walks. I love water and being out in the community, but I do also like to be inside and doing crafts. I like to listen to music; I do not have a preference and am happy to listen to anything. I really enjoy watching the music channels. I have a learning disability and show traits of autism. I have very limited speech and very delayed development, meaning that I have the same level of care needs as a toddler. PURPOSE OF JOB I am looking for a Personal Assistant to support me both at home and within the community to increase my independence and allow my mother some time with my other siblings. HOURS OF WORK 32.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri) Job share can be considered, please specify when you apply. RATES OF PAY £10.50 per hour plus 40p per mile for any journeys we make together. TASKS INVOLVED Helping me access community activities Personal care, changing nappies etc. Accompanying me on the bus/driving me to different places Keeping me safe at all times Suggesting activities we can do together/encouraging me to join in. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Car driver with own car an advantage but not essential. Mileage will be paid but business class insurance will be necessary Responsible and reliable Kind and patient Flexible Care experience ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
