Part-time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a young boy living in the Barry area with my mother and two siblings. I really like cars and love talking about them. I am really interested in retro cars as they are so different to the cars we see today. I also love playing car games on my Xbox in my spare time. I like watching Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube in the evenings as it helps my wind down for the night. I like animals however I am not really a dog person. I have a pet Gecko and my sister has a pet cat.

I was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a progressive neuromuscular disorder in April 2013. I am also a wheelchair user.

PURPOSE OF JOB

The main purpose of the job is to get me ready for bed every evening (7 days a week) and wake me up and prepare me for the day on the weekends.

HOURS OF WORK

Monday to Sunday – 1 hour after 7pm – time to be arranged with family - 2 workers

Saturday and Sunday – 30 minutes - AM call – time to be arranged with family – 2 workers

8 hours in total to be worked as double handed. Please get in contact with any hours you may be able to cover.

RATES OF PAY

£11.40 with double time bank holiday

  • Personal care and toileting needs

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
