JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

I’m an 8 year old boy with a diagnosis of ASD, A statement of educational need, Learning disability and a diagnosis of biliary atresia. I have very limited speech mostly non-verbal. I can communicate some words but not many. I’m not using any other form of communication. I much prefer adult interaction, and watching videos on a phone. I dislike socialising with peers.

I enjoy outdoor play/activities with my ABA tutor, privately funded direct payment worker, mum and dad or siblings. I also enjoy going to soft play, trampolining and going to the local supermarket. I like to have a daily routine and can become distressed if there is a disruption to this.

I can display challenging behaviours such as screaming, self-harm, biting, punching and smearing. I will display these behaviours when I am in a phase of regression or anxious. I can display destructive behaviour at home also. I am supported through applied behaviour analysis.

I have a good appetite but I prefer to eat home cooked meals instead of eating snacks throughout the day. I don’t have awareness of road safety, general environmental/household risks, or stranger danger.
