Part-time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a lady in my late 60’s and I am based in a flat within an independent living building in the Barry area. I have a learning disability and epilepsy. I also use a walking aid. I spend most of my time in my flat, I watch TV / videos, complete quizzes and I knit. I would like to go shopping, out for coffee and to activities such as music club, knitting club and singing group. I would also like to visit my late husband’s grave.

PURPOSE OF JOB

I am looking to employ a Personal Assistant to take me out in the community.

HOURS OF WORK

10 hours per week

Likely to be worked on a Monday (2hrs), Wednesday (3 hrs), Friday (2hrs) and Saturday (3hrs), but I can be flexible.

I am willing to consider more than one PA to share the hours.

RATES OF PAY

£11.40 per hour

  • Ensure that all my needs are met
  • Take me out into the community
  • Assist me to go shopping and to other activities I’ll enjoy
  • Take me out for coffee
  • Keep me company
  • Ensure I am safe at all times

  • Driver with own vehicle with business class insurance

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
